In September, a brave team of South West paramedics from the Hazardous Area Response Team will take on the Three Peaks Challenge.
The team aim to climb the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in under 24 hours – a real physical, mental and logistical challenge!
The team will be climbing Snowdon in Wales, Scafell Pike in England and Ben Nevis in Scotland – a climb amounting to nearly 3500m!
The team of paramedics, colleagues and friends are raising money for GWAAC because it is a charity that is close to their heart. Several team members work closely with the air ambulance as paramedics and are aware of the life-saving service it provides. The team told us:
“We are fundraising for charities that are close to our hearts – as paramedics from the Hazardous Area Response Team we regularly work alongside these tremendous organisations and really want to help support them. We have chosen three charities (one for each summit) that operate across our region – the RNLI, Great Western Air Ambulance Charity and Cornwall Air Ambulance.”
The team would greatly appreciate all support and donations. You can support the team by sponsoring them on Virgin Money Giving.
