Seven and a half days of trekking, 10,000 gruelling steps to climb, memories of a lifetime. The Great Wall of China isn’t a challenge for the faint hearted!
Great Western Air Ambulance Charity is looking for hardy souls who can walk in the footsteps of the Ming Dynasty and help keep them flying.
The Great Wall of China is regarded as one of the Seven Medieval Wonders of the World, spanning almost 4000 miles from the Gobi Desert to the Yellow Sea. You’ll be hiking on steep, remote terrain in high temperatures for a week and staying in a mixture of simple guesthouses and a “home stay” in a traditional rural village, complete with traditional long beds! As well as seeing one of the most spectacular sights in the world, you’ll have the opportunity to visit Beijing and tour Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the other sights of this extraordinary city.
We’re heading to China in September 2018 and we’d love to have you join our team. We’ll cover the cost of your flights, accommodation and food. In return we’ll ask you to meet an ambitious fundraising target, helping and supporting you every step of the way. You’ll be trekking with a group of committed volunteers, who’ll you get to know in the weeks and months leading up to this incredible challenge as you fundraise and train together.
Want to find out more? Come to our information evenings in Bristol on 20 April to meet our team and hear how you can complete this amazing challenge!
